A question was raised last week ...What is spiritual freedom? How do we get
it?
I suggest to you that as to WHAT it is ...We consider, instead, WHO it is.
Just as God is love ...So, too, can it be said, that Jesus IS freedom. He is
the WAY to freedom and it is found in Him. Jesus is our CHAMPION for
freedom. A champion is, in one sense, an ardent defender or supporter of a
cause or another person. Jesus is YOUR Champion.
He is YOUR defender. He is YOUR supporter. And, as such, He won your
freedom from sin. And, He won your freedom back from the enemy for you. In
its verb form...
To champion something means to fight for ...Or to defend or to support.
Jesus is our Champion (noun) who champions (verb) our freedom, among other
things.
Look at 2 Cor. 3:17 It says ...The Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit
of the Lord is, there is FREEDOM. Where His Spirit is, there, too, is
freedom. He IS what He entails.
He is love ...He is mercy ...He is compassion ...And if He personifies these
things...Then where He is, these things are, too. He is IN you as a born
again believer. All that He is, is IN you. You have access, by way of union
with Him, to ALL that He is and among these things is FREEDOM. It is yours!
We need to 'access' all that Jesus is.
To access means to use your right of passage. Jesus is the WAY, the TRUTH,
and the LIFE.
He is your ACCESS to freedom, as well. Gal. 5:1 says ...’We have freedom
now, because Christ made us free. So stand strong. Do not change and go back
into the slavery of the law.’
We are not to change BACK and revert to the law.
Verse 2 of Gal. 5 tells us that if we do go back to the law ...Then Christ
does us no good. When we are saved, we put on Christ; the old man is gone
and all things are new. If we put on Christ, we put on FREEDOM IN CHRIST,
too. We need to put it into practice, though. We need to exercise faith
BELIEVING that we are free.
John 8:31 and 32 ...Jesus is talking to the Jews who believed in Him here.
He says ... If you continue to OBEY my teaching, you are truly my followers.
Then you will know the truth and the truth will make you free. If we OBEY
His teaching (and He taught that we HAVE FREEDOM) ...Remember Gal. 5:1 ...We
HAVE freedom now because Christ made us free. So, if we OBEY this teaching
(among the many) ...
Then, we will KNOW the truth in a matter and that truth will make us free.
And we know that Jesus IS truth. We have, instilled in us at the new birth,
FREEDOM.
We simply need to activate it (access it) by faith. So, what is FREEDOM IN
THE SPIRIT? Actually, what is FREEDOM, generally speaking?…It is a GIFT. And
how do we get it?…We get it by RECEIVING the gift.
Praise God.
It is true that the enemy will fight to keep us from accessing what we have
available to us. He will lie ...And he will use people and events to cause
us to miss the truth.
And, sometimes, we need help to break the strongholds which keep us from
living in the reality of the truth. But, our God has made deliverance
available in order that we can see those strongholds broken and driven out.
Hallelujah!…He IS the way ...And He has made a way…..Glory to God.
How awesome that Jesus is our freedom, the word says.. Whom, the lord sets
free is free indeed. Yes…the second part is.. How to keep it? For this I
turn to.. Two situations that must be looked at.. For they explain why we seem stay
bound at times.. I was thinking so many times we are saved yet we do not walk in
the fullness of that salvation. Namely freedom in Christ JESUS for this I turn to kjv Exodus 14:1 Exodus 14:1 ‘And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying, this story is when God called Moses to set the captives free after much resistance Pharaoh finely agreed yet.. it says.. Kjv Exodus 14:4   And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, that he shall follow after
them; and I will be honored upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the
Egyptians may know that I am the LORD. And they did so.

 In John we see
Lazarus, he is dead and buried and Mary goes to Jesus kjv John 11:4 John
11:4 ‘When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but
for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.’ Both
of these account.. God allowed.. a situation that  man, could not in any way
have intervened to change.  Pharaoh was mad. and coming after the people of
God.  And when the people were at the sea.. and had no where to go, GOD showed
up!  When Lazarus was dead 4 days and stanketh and there was no hope!  God
showed up.  What am I saying is that our freedom at times.. Looks hopeless it
looks to the world as though we are not going to make it looks as though we
are dead, it looks and smells like we are already beyond repair, yet GOD.  To our
neighbors  and family who do not know Him, the see Hopelessness,   they may scoff.. Silly.. Christians.. Who sit while their God allows them to die..
OH but God!  When all is lost to the hands of man,  one word from God.. and the sea is parted why? WHY?.. because we serve a jealous God, we serve a God that will not NOT share one ounce of glory with man.
He will not let you get credit for your deliverance he will not let you show
yourself mighty. HE is God these two situations were allowed to do one
thing.. to show the lost world that no matter what.. No matter the mighty
seas. No matter the death. of life
GOD with one word can raise the dead and calm the seas.. what a God we serve
NOW.. why don't we walk in this freedom?  Unbelief, Unforgiven,
Unrighteousness the UN words.. are much of why we stay in bondage. Even
after the Hand of God has calmed the sea and said.. come forth!   If we have unforgiveness.. we bind ourselves.
If we walk according to the world we sell ourselves back into bondage.
If we think our situation is too big.. or strong.. we do not believe and
therefore cancel the freedom that is ours.. we reach down, and put back on
the grave cloths. Saying I deserve to be bound. How can we keep free this
precious freedom that is free, to us? We must resist the Devil and he will flee, for He and the world, who is under his beguilement, teaches us to rely on SELF.  But to those who have laid down the world and the things thereof, must:
One: know God!   To know God we must seek . and that is an active word,
...seek.. it takes action to keep free.. Two: we must know the word for the word is
Jesus and Jesus is the word.  It is written:  Study to show thyself approved..
by filling up with the word.. we push out the things that keep us bound. Next,  we
must know who we are.. and to know that.. again we must know the word. And finely
well not finely. for we are only scratching the surface of this subject, we must sow the
right seed.  For what we sow,  we reap!   If we sow seeds of freedom..
"whom the Lord sets free is free indeed." and we speak freedom
for the words we speak are seeded  into our mind.. (renew your mind by the word)
We will get a harvest.. Freedom!   If we sow.. Binding seed.. We will find
ourselves.. Entangled by weeds.. Never intended to be upon any of the
children of the Most High GOD!    We must,  Repent.. And forgive ourselves and others. By doing so we  rid our garden from those ungodly seeds and make way for the righteous seed of the Living God.  Stand in righteousness.. Which is to stand in the
righteousness of JESUS.. And be free And believe what you read and what you
study of God,  for yourself ..not just for your brother or sister and remember
that .. "There is NO, sin that is not common to man nothing surprises God..
and there is nothing the Blood of JESUS did not FINISH. In conclusion..
Faith cometh by hearing. so speak good things into your life. I'm free! I’m
blessed!   I’m the head and not the tail!   Speak LIFE into your situation:  I can
do all things through Christ Jesus.. And always remember.. Freedom is LOVE.
Love your brothers Love your enemy, Love yourself. For GOD so loved the
world.. HE gave. (Freedom) His Son Jesus ... amen
