This computer acronym can also apply to the training of our children.
We, as parents, need to be careful of what we are allowing
into our childrens minds and
out of their mouths.
Remember the Sunday school song "Be careful little eyes
what you see. Be careful little
ears what you hear."
We should each take that to heart. I do not believe that in
this day and age we can be
careful enough! There is so much garbage out there. On the TV,
in magazines, on the
internet, even in schools. Everywhere you look garbage,
garbage, garbage.
The things that go into our children are our
responsibility! We will answer for it before the
Lord. And we must take great care in what goes in!! God
expects us to keep the garbage
out of our children.
Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh
(Matthew 12:34b).
Kjv- Mathew 12:34 O generation of
vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things?
for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth
speaketh.
Think about it, what is in the heart is what comes out of
the mouth! How does it get in to
the heart?? Through the eyes and ears!! What they see and what
they hear dictates what
comes from the mouth!!
How many times have we chided our child for saying
something that we did not approve of
them saying, only to think back and remember it was what we
ourselves had said!
Remember that we will give account for every idle word that we
speak (Matthew 12:36).
And how much more will we be held accountable for the words we
cause or even allow our
children to speak. So we also should keep a guard on our words
as well!
Mathew 12:36 But I say unto you,
That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall
give account thereof in the day of judgment.
Jesus told the Pharisees in Matthew 12 that since they were
evil they could not speak
good things. That evil comes from evil and good comes from
good. That a good man
brings forth good things out of the good treasure of his
heart: and an evil man out of the
evil treasure brings forth evil things.
We train our children in what they bring forth. Whether it be good or evil.
Jesus goes on to tell us in Matthew 12:37 that by our words
we shall be justified, and by
our words will we be condemned. It is a choice. We can teach
our children so that they will
be justified.
Mathew 12:37 For by thy words thou
shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be
condemned.
Paul gives us some help in Philippians (4:8) when he tells
us that we should think about
the things that are true, things that are honest, things that
are just, things that are
pure, things that are lovely, things that are of good report;
things of virtue, and praise.
Philippians 4:8 Finally,
brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things
are
honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are
pure, whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any
virtue, and if there be any praise, think
on these things. By following Pauls advice we help to keep
out the evil things from the heart.
Because we cannot think on good and evil at the same
time.
Joshua 1:8 says : This book of the law shall not depart
out of your mouth; but you shall
meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do
according to all that is written
in it: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and
then you shall have good success.
God does not expect us to be with our children every moment
to be able to filter out the
evil. He knows that we can not keep out every single evil and
He does not expect that of
us. However, He does expect us to work hard at it, to strive
to keep it all out and to do
the very best we can.
