Guidelines To Live
By
<littlejane_biblestudying> i have titled
my study 'Guidelines to live by'
*littlejane_biblestudying []NIV[]: Proverbs 3:1 My son, do not
forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart,
* littlejane_biblestudying []NIV[]: Proverbs 3:2 for they will
prolong your life many years and bring you prosperity.
<littlejane_biblestudying> We need to keep Gods laws
<littlejane_biblestudying> And what is promised if we
do?
<littlejane_biblestudying> A longer life and
peace......
<littlejane_biblestudying> now who would not like that?
* littlejane_biblestudying !KJV! Proverbs 3:3 Let not mercy
and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon
the table of thine heart:
* littlejane_biblestudying !KJV! Proverbs 3:4 So shalt thou
find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and
man.
<littlejane_biblestudying> vs 3 talks about making mercy
and truth a part of ourselves
<littlejane_biblestudying> to do everything you can to make
it part of you
<littlejane_biblestudying> And if you do you will find
favor with God and man.
<littlejane_biblestudying> Just think...
<littlejane_biblestudying> Yes God is happy when we are
truthful and merciful,
<littlejane_biblestudying> but dont the ppl around you also
appreciate those qualities?
* littlejane_biblestudying <Kjv> Proverbs 3:5 Trust in
the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own
understanding.
<littlejane_biblestudying> What is trust?
<littlejane_biblestudying> truth is assured reliance on the
character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or
something
<Dylan14> to be able to count on someone without being
hurt
<littlejane_biblestudying> sounds to me ..... kinda like
faith
<littlejane_biblestudying> Trust (assured reliance) in the
Lord....
<littlejane_biblestudying> i dont see where doubt fits into
the definition
<littlejane_biblestudying> it cant
<littlejane_biblestudying> or else it would not be
trust
<littlejane_biblestudying> so the verse urges us to
trust
<littlejane_biblestudying> so the verse urges us to
trust
<littlejane_biblestudying> with part of our heart?
<littlejane_biblestudying> No, all of it
<littlejane_biblestudying> but only when it makes sense to
me?
<littlejane_biblestudying> Lean NOT on your own
understanding
<littlejane_biblestudying> sometimes God will not make
sense to us
<littlejane_biblestudying> but we are to trust
<littlejane_biblestudying> Assured reliance
* littlejane_biblestudying !kjv! Proverbs 3:6 In all thy ways
acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
<littlejane_biblestudying> If we fully trust Him,
<littlejane_biblestudying> and not let our thinking of what
makes sense get in the way, and we do as he says
<littlejane_biblestudying> He will direct our paths
<littlejane_biblestudying> He will guide us
<littlejane_biblestudying> God is so faithful
<littlejane_biblestudying> sometimes we have difficulty
trusting God
<littlejane_biblestudying> We think man has failed
us.....
<littlejane_biblestudying> maybe God will too
<littlejane_biblestudying> But the Bible is saying that if
we trust Him... He WILL guide us
<littlejane_biblestudying> all we have to do is trust
<littlejane_biblestudying> we can trust him and he will
always come through
<littlejane_biblestudying> But we need to follow His
ways
<littlejane_biblestudying> Even when they dont make
sense
<littlejane_biblestudying> God did many things in the Bible
that did not make sense...
<littlejane_biblestudying> but it always turned out
good
<littlejane_biblestudying> ALWAYS!
<littlejane_biblestudying> that is all i have for
tonight.
